GLORY TO UKRAINE.

"War will never destroy a nation, but unite it with utmost courage, sacrifice and resilience to pass on. Flowers will once again flourish across the mountains and meadows."

lyrics

He was born on this independent land
That wasn’t much older than him
There were lives to hatch
And flowers to bloom

But in the east the neighbour was daring to flare
Their troops and violent wills
After years of scare
They stepped the sill

At that dawn

Missiles on the skyline
Declared wartime over his hometown
This young man
Picking up a rifle and camouflage
Got to fight

Where an expected mother
Stayed in their kitchen to make bread for squads
She wanted
A future unscathed where kids could bud
And grow in fearless

The bullets flied
They had no eyes
Ricocheting was death in wind
The heaviest thuds
Gushing out the blood
One more collapsed onto the ground

Where soldiers are tools
Serving whoever rule
Kneeing behind their beasts to laud
They boast to kill
Innocents on sill
Despite God’s eyes on the mud

Ukrainian flowers
Sprang out of corpses and charred debris and ash
Narrates the mother
The past of war to her cradled newborn homelander

And the boy has grown up, learned to spell
And learned the glories as well
The heroes like his dad
Fought back their foe

Woh

“Only if he lived”
The boy never stopped dreaming at night
A man that
Had given him life
Has given in his own
On the field

Whispers and wind
Travel down the granite headstones
He visits
Sweeping off the snow or dust from the one
He lays a sunflower

The bullets flied
They had no eyes
Ricocheting was death in wind
The heaviest thuds
Gushing out the blood
One more collapsed onto the ground

Where soldiers are tools
Serving whoever rule
Kneeing behind their beasts to laud
They boast to kill
Innocents on sill
Despite God’s eyes on the mud

Ukrainian flowers
Sprang out of corpses and charred debris and ash
Narrates the mother
The past of war to her cradled newborn homelander
